Why Takapuna homes suit glass balustrades

If you live in Takapuna, chances are you bought the place for the view. Whether you're looking out over the harbour toward Rangitoto or down the beach toward Milford, the last thing you want is a balustrade blocking the sightline. That's exactly where frameless glass comes into its own. Being this close to the water means salt spray is a fact of life. Cheap fittings corrode within a couple of years up here — I've replaced enough of them to know. So on every Takapuna job we use 316-grade stainless steel spigots and channel trims, and we powder-coat any aluminium to a marine spec. It costs a little more upfront but saves you a maintenance headache down the track.

Pool fencing and shower screens in Takapuna

Plenty of Takapuna properties have a pool in the back section, and the council is firm on F9 compliance. We fit frameless glass pool fencing that meets the barrier requirements without turning the pool area into a cage. The same goes for shower screens — the newer apartments and townhouses around Anzac Street and the lake side tend to have compact bathrooms where a frameless hinged door makes the room feel far more generous than it is.
