Around the marina and the lake

Milford is a small suburb but it has two distinct sides. Toward the marina and the beach, the homes take the full coastal exposure and the decks are all about the view out over the water. Behind the beach around Milford Lake, it's more sheltered and the homes are a mix of renovated originals and new infill. The balustrade we recommend depends which side of the suburb you're on.

On the marina side, a frameless channel system is usually the call — the view is the whole point and the barrier needs to disappear. On the lake side, we see more deck retrofits on older homes, where side-fixed spigots let us fix to the existing deck edge without rebuilding it. Both end up with glass because it's what suits the setting.

Marina-side salt exposure

The marina adds its own flavour to the salt exposure — there's a lot of boat activity and a lot of metal in the air. Pool fencing and shower screens

A few Milford homes have pools, and we fit frameless glass barriers that meet F9 and keep the pool area open. Shower screens round out the work — the renovated bathrooms in these homes suit a frameless glass screen that's easy to keep clean and makes the room feel bigger, which matters in the more compact lake-side homes.
